Sorry gang first post! 1952 Styeline deluxe Chevy

looking for instructions as to how to remove lower portion of front bench seat without removing back rest portion.

Looking at Bev's Bluebird I do not see that there is any practical way without removing the entire seat from the car.

Not sure what you mean by this, but it's possible to remove the back upper part of seat without removing the entire seat from the car. You can remove the side trim panel and bolts holding the upper seat to the lower seat and then lift it up and out from the lower seat. The body manual lists the details. Get yourself the 49-52 Shop Manual or Body Manual from National Chevy, Chevs of the Forties, or Filling Station. It's the best tool you can buy for your old Chevy.

PS--with help from a buddy it's not difficult to pull the entire seat out to work on it also.

That is what I saw looking at Bluebird. Remove entire seat then separate back from bottom.
