I posted awhile back, a question on my ignition switch being mislocated on the upper left corner of the dash:
https://vccachat.org/ubbthreads.php/topics/209120/1

I finally got an explanation from Joneses. My car has a solenoid above the starter. Apparently, this eliminates the starter button and the starter switch and somehow required moving the ignition switch.

I have located a rebuilt 1107001 starter core, but I need a starter linkage, among other things. I found this on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1938-Chevy-...ries&hash=item1e6c85a1bc&vxp=mtr

Can somebody look at the ebay linkage, and let me know if it's correct for a 38 sedan, and if it's missing anything? Bolts and cotter pins don't bother me; those are hardware store items. And I realize I'll need a bellows and a button. I just don't want to buy a part that's missing something major.

It looks complete, though I had to turn it right side up to figure it out. I have the button and bellows but need the rest as shown. Then again, I'm hoping to get one when I find an engine for my car...

There is another little part but you could get by without it or make one. It is like a tear drop with a hole in each end. It is what the return spring hooks to.
