If anybody is interested i just did an experiment today with 1933 chevrolet standard CC series running board METAL BACKING PLATES.
I was taking pictures of a pair of cut & trimmed 34 MASTER running board rubber mats , that were with the 34 std roadster i just bought.
ANYWAY, somebody had sliced away rubber on the mats on the inside edge in order to get them to fit onto some home made metal running boards. What i have discovered is that i have pair of 33 std metal backing plates and put the rubber onto them. If the whole 1/2" wide inside edge was trimmed away they would fit onto the 33 std plates almost perfectly . More careful slicing at the end could make a short butt piece to look like an original might.
I have decided to sell these mats to use on a 33 std for less than half what a new pair would cost. I listed them on ebay USA under item #251029262951 seller name MADMIKE3434, starting tonight.
