On the door lock pillar, there is a lip about 1/4" X 1/4" that looks like it is only filler for the bead along the door skin. How important is that? I'm tempted to moit it.

David Entler omits that piece off his wood so you don't have to reskin the door. Not sure what the others do. Joe

I talked to Jim Rodman this morning & he also leaves that piece off otherwise you'ld have to uncrimp & recrimp the door shin. You could build that little sliver seperate & set it into the grove with a bead of glue between the 2 pieces of wood & it would be about the same. I put my doors together without & they're very strong, stronger than i thought wood would ever be. Good luck, Joe
