How authentic is a "seahorse" hood ornament for mid
30's models? Is it correct for either passenger
car or truck?
Thanks, Johnny

The trucks for 1934 used the same as the Standard car for 1933. The trucks for 35 & 36 used the same as the Standard car for 1934. These were supplied by the Chevrolet Dealer.

34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.

Yes the "eagle" cap. The plain stardard production cap p/n 370683 is the same for the following cars/trucks CA,CC,DA,DB,DC,P,EB,EC,Q,FB,& R. I am sorry I am wrong on the 35 & 36 trucks they used the 1935 Standard Accessory "eagle" cap The 35 accessory book shows it. I have at least 20 pictures of new 1934 early and late trucks showing the 1933 accessory eagle cap. The Special Chassis and the eagle caps tended to be used most on the 1/2 ton panel trucks it really jazzed them up.

The 1934 accessory book shows the 1934 eagle for all 1934 models and "it also fits 1933 models" is added.
The 1934 parts book shos the 1933 Eagle for CA and AA only.
The 1934 Eagle is listed for DA and DC.
Nothing is specified for trucks.I would be willing to bet that you would have been hardpressed to find an accy. Eagle on any truck in 1934.At $3.75 that would have been equal to 2 days pay.
I am sure many were installed later when they were of little value or the dealer had some "left overs" on sale for 99 cents.
The 1933 and 1934 were the best looking and most graceful of all the ornaments/caps.

I have a collection of about 300 1934 early and late 1934 Chevrolet pickups, panels, stakes, dumps etc new & used trucks in Service just in your great state of Wis. that I got out of a professional photogaphers estate. I would estimate that a least 15-20% of them especially the panels had the 1933 Chevrolet eagle on their radiator shells. Would you like to see some of them? All the pictures and origiinal literature for 1935 show the 1934 eagle in use and is in the accessory book for 1935

I can't get to Colorado this time wish I could. I'll make some copies for you. A large percentage of the trucks are delivering BEER can't imagine they have a taste for thatin Wisconson. Some of the pictures were sold to Chevrolet and used for their advertising literature I have the literature and the original photos.

The beer delivery trucks were usually dressed up.
Miller had a few of the Dodge Air Flow trucks...would see them delivering at the local Pubs.
Perhaps we will meet at the 6 Cyl tour in MI. next year...I am registered for the one in OHIO this year also.

I just put in the mail a few of the many 33 eagles on 34 trucks for you to view. These are trucks from Wisconson I'm sure other areas especially urban places had just as many or more; far more than the left over 33 stock from Dealer Parts Departments.
