Trying to locate a Alemite pin type fitting for my grease gun.

I looked at the Filling Station and did not find any.

Thank you, Larry.

Hope this helps.

The leaset expensive ones I found was through McMaster Carr.
Type in "Pin Grease Fittings."They range from $3 to $5 depending on the type you need.

Thanks to everyone. I got one ordered and should be here by the weekend.

The old girl proably has not had a good lube in 50 years.

I know it is going to be a real job to get some of them to take any lube.

Thanks you, Larry.

I had the same problem with old grease in the alemite fittings. Tractor Supply sells a tool to free up plugged grease fittings. It is a cylinder with a plunger about 6" long. There is a fitting on one end of the cylinder to attach it to a zerk. You fill the cylinder with penetrating oil, attach it to the zerk, slip in the piston and hit it with a hammer. The hydraulic action works really well to clean out the old crud. The kit also comes with a hose so you can attach it just about anywhere.

Gary sells the adapter that fits on the end of your grease gun to enable you to connect to alemite fittings. Also, the pin type fittings can be purchased at McMaster-Carr

I went with one from Restoration Supply. The one I ordered is the style with the zerk fitting on the other end.

I decided on this one because I plan to fill one grease gun with a light oil, maybe even ATF. Get the fitting to start lubing OK with the light oil and then grab another grease gun with something like maybe 90 wt. gear oil and finish it off.

I'm sure several of them are going to give me a hard time.

But I will get 'em.

I'm actually getting excited about lubing the Chevy. LOL

I'll let you know she goes.

Larry.

Why not pull them all out. Put them in a good container with a lid on it with some and soak them for a few days? Shake the can now and then. Clean them all out and then push some clean grease threw them before reinstalling them. Forcing the grease only pushes the solid stuff into your joints. Kind of destroying what you are trying to accomplish.

Why didn't I think of that. Sounds like a great idea.

I must be off my game a little bit. HA HA.

I will try your method and let you know how it turns out.

Thank you, Larry.

BTW, I left out the word Gasoline. Be careful and store it outside and it should be fine. Al W.
