I have been pretty scarce in the forums lately, I have been just too darn busy (a big part of that has been getting everything ready for the national Board meeting, now less than 3 weeks away in Oregon).

But last weekend Chuck Gibson came out from New Jersey, and we swapped out the Powerglide and differential in my "modern" car, the 1953 Belair (which is now completely, wonderfully, silent again!). While Chuck was here, early one morning I got out the 1916 to take him for a quick spin, in a properly ancient Chevrolet. Turn up your sound pretty high, and listen to that sweet 96 year old Chevy 4 chugging along.... here's the YouTube link -

Thanks for the post Don. I would have had to pound through 3 ft snow drifts here to do that today - so it was nice to see a 490 on the road somewhere. chevy

Pretty neat, I bet there aren't many 1916's putting around with snow on the ground!

Don - the usual SW Colorado amazing blue-sky weather is back - bringing with it red mud season. So none of my cars will be leaving the garage until the driveway dries out. The trade-off to living in the mountains.

BTW: good letter in the April issue of Hemmings Classic Car. It's amazing how hard it is to correct common misconceptions. Just ask any Corvair fan (UNSAFE)!
