I am trying to rebuild my 31 fuel pump. When I took it apart the push rod and diaphram looks like it is press fit in one piece or somthing. How do you replace just the diaphragm

Sounds like you have the wrong fuel pump. The correct fuel pump is an AC-405 and the diaphragm is attached to the threaded rod with a hex nut.

On the diaphragm and rod that you have, you will need to grind off the rivet on the top of the rod and then remove the diaphragm. Drill and tap the top of the rod for an 8-32 screw and then you can use the screw and the existing washers to attach the new diaphragm.
