Hi guys
I'm having trouble taking my trunk handle completely apart so I can chrome the main body of the handle.
I took out the small set screw but am getting nowhere.
Help.

Are you trying to take the lock cylinder out of the handle? The handle assembly out of the lock mechanism?

There is a metal pin that holds the lock cylinder into the handle. It is located about an 1" from the inside end. You need to remove the pin to free the cylinder.

The only pin I see is the one that turns when I turn the key. It's about and inch and one quarter from the end. How does it come out?

The pin does not turn. It is in the shank of the handle. It may not be obvious if it is ground flat and even with the small depression in the shank.

I finally found the pin.
I thought it was just a small mark in the shank, until I looked closer.
When I pulled it out the whole thing came right apart. I hope the lock mechanism is o.k
Thanks

Chip. What sort of lubricant is used for the lock cylinder, now that it's out and clean?
It looks like standard grease to me.
