Hi. I have a friend with a 1930 Sedan with chassi letter XSSE and no 551. Any ideas were and when it was manufactured?

Now, the Stockholm Plant received CKD kits from Chevrolet Bloomfield Boxing Plant in New Jersey. Thus they used Flint-built engines. If you find the casting date code on the block: A TO L FOR JANUARY TO DECEMBER 1 TO 31 FOR DATE 9 FOR 1929/0 FOR 1930 then you can work out the engine assembly date by adding say two weeks, then you have to add at least a month for the engine to get to Bloomfield, be crated, shipped across the Atlantic and assembled inthe chassis. Possibly two months.

I bought a 38 Chevy Conv. right hand drive this is whats on the body plate
