I installed a 235cu. motor in my 1936 pickup. I went with a 1941 truck bellhousing in order to mate the motor up to my 36 trans. and used the 235 flywheel, (1958) and clutch assembly(and starter).Every thing was fine at first but now the starter drive won't engage the flywheel. as near as I can tell the starter teeth are not meshing deep enough in the ring gear. has anyone out there done this conversion before or have any advise to help? Is there another starter or starter gear that I could use? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks....Olgzr  wazzup

It must be a 12 Volt starter from a 1955 and up to mate with your flywheel teeth.

Chevgene, I'm currently using a 12v starter, however I'm wondering if the flywheel is too small for the bellhousing? Thanks
