Hi,
Can you tell the difference between a 1929 truck diff compared to the 1927/28 ones with out pulling off the back cover?

I have pulled 3 apart at present,trying to find a good one.One was a 29, the rest were 27/8.
All I found was 2 good axils with good keyways. One axil was twisted nearly 1 spline out at the diff centre. It was a wonder it did not break. The 3 diff centres were chewed up on the pinion.
I have 5 more spare ones so hopefully I will find a good crownwheel and pinion to use.
