Chevy Mercury is the name given to the Standard car in 1933 as compared to the Master. I am not sure the term Mercury was universally used in 1933. Standard and Master became widely used. I have not seen the term used in official Chevrolet documents but maybe some one else has.

To the best of my knowledge the 1933 CHEVROLET STANDARD SERIES ...MERCURY "CC", was only ever made in the 2 door sedan and the 3 window coupe, this is on a 107" wheelbase.
The other 1933 CHEVROLET is the EAGLE MASTER SERIES CA with 112 inch wheelbase, touring / phaetons were made. last one i saw restored ( yellow and black ) sell on ebay for around $30 G ? that was 4 months ago. There is a 33 master touring from Uroguay South america on ebay now at $17.500 opening bid, that needs complete restoration.
Its worth what you and the seller can negotiate a final price too. How much do u really want it and how badly does seller want to move it.......that really dictates final price. mike

The 1933 Chevrolet Standard 6 was made in 3 models, Coach, Coupe & sports coupe. If you have a touring car you have a 1936 Austrailian Tourer. They used earlier sheet metal on some of their cars.....Joe

In Australia the 1933 standard was offered as a roadster [ commercial and sports] four door sedan, coupe, roadster utility and tourer. The name phaeton was never used on Holden bodied cars. Tourers in this model are very rare here and I personally have only ever seen around 4 or 5 in the last 40 years.

I don't think that one on ebay sold... It's still on the Hemmings site for well over 50k http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/chevrolet/master/1339962.html

Personally i do not think an Australian built HOLDEN bodied 1933 chevrolet , factory right hand drive, will fetch the $$$ in the USA.
I have seen a lot of these Auzzie Holden bodied cars , roadsters and tourings appear on ebay USA and they really have not sold that well. Sold but not for the kind of $$$ you would think. I think the value for them would be in Australia or New Zealand, if those boys are buying.

Unfortunately these rarer type cars have largely been overlooked here in Australia in favour of more common models and to this day I am not aware of a restored 1933 standard tourer in this country. Restoration of vintage cars here seems to be at an all time low.It would be nice to think that may change but at the moment it seems the younger generation is only interested in playing silly computer games.

Well, considering the rarety of even a 33 standard series touring, it should fetch a price, question is what price. I believe Glenn Stauffer of Jekyl Island Georgia and his antique car museum had one in the 1970s. He used to run a full page monthly advert in hemmings motor news selling mostly chevrolets. I do remember seeing a 1933 chevrolet phaeton/touring that was 2 tone green and it had a 1962--1970 chevy 4 banger called an iron duke, with 4 speed he had for sale. It was such a pretty car, it really captured my attention even to this day.
Glenn also had a 1935 chevrolet roadster pickup, that was beige /tan body with chestnut brown fenders. As a matter of fact somebody was selling a picture post card of it in ebay couple of weeks for $4.99.........i should have bought it. I think Glenn told me he made it up of a touring front section with a pickup rear section. This is different than a 35 chevrolet AUZZIE Holden built UTE.
Looking at a holden bodied touring 1933--1935 the main differences I can easily spot , is the body molding around the rear quarterpanel wheelwell, right above the fender, not on a holden. The extension of the upper body molding that sweeps down to the gas tank cover, not on a holden. The upper body molding on the cowl area and the door area is different from usa to auzzie bodies.
I think there is quite a few of the right hand drive Holden bodied 1933--35 roadsters and tourings that have been exported from Australia to the USA .

Nice 1933 MASTER on Hemmings motor news, but i would like to see a picture of the 1933 standard touring we were originally talking about, from the original poster.
