I am currently restoring a 35 Master Sport Coupe.
The car lacks a couple of items that I would like to get some suggestions on.
First, at the back of the car, the part that is riveted to the frame for which the bolt that holds the bumper spring to the frame is missing.
I think during the 50's someone was going to make a rod out of this car, and cut it off. Does anyone know who might have an old salvaged frame,
who would be willing to cut this part, maybe even a 33-35 might fit. Otherwise, I guess I will have to fabricate which will not be in noticeable place anyway.
Second, the data tag on the firewall was missing.
Does anyone know where I can find an old data tag that maybe came off a salvaged or rodded 35 Master Sport Coupe???? idea

The part you need is called an extension, frame to bumper attaching, in the parts book. The part fits 1935 and 1936 Master cars, except 2 and 4 doors with built-in trunks.
Hope this helps in your search.
If this is missing you are also probably missing the bumper jack supports that are also attached by the bolt that holds the bumper bracket to the extension.Would be necessary when the bumper jack is used. The jack supports fit all model 1935-36 Masters.

The parts you are missing were bolted to the frame in my original barnyard Master Coach. I imagine the same is true for the Coupe. Do you know what these parts look like? If not I can make a drawing and send it to you. I can also email a photo of the bumper jack suppors mentioned by Chev Nut if you wish.

Unfornately, the part is missing, so I can't describe what it looks like. It is the part that extends from the frame to the rear sheet metal. The bolt that holds the bumper spring would be threaded into this part that I need. If you could send me a close up photo, I can confirm if the part is correct.

I will email a photo and drawing this (Friday) evening. I cannot imagine these parts being different from the coupe which uses the same frame and bumper with the bulge for the spare tire. But who knows?

The parts book says the coupe and trunkless sedans use the same extensions....In other words any body style with a spare tire on the back.

I should not have asked "who knows." Chev Nut knows !! Thanks Gene

Sketch of the mounting extension or ELL has been emailled to David as well as a sketch of the order of assembly with the rubber donut and Jack Bracket.

david did you ever find the knock in your 33 ? kenny olmstead in the arlington texas area still has a parts car for sale if you cant find the part . i cant wait for you to start looking for the bumper jack that fits the bracket that bolts on the rear bumper brace i have only seen three of them and i have one im sure there are others not easy to come by . when i was doing my 35 i came across these pieces in a box could not figure what they could be for i thought they may be 55 chevy motor mounts or those other car parts so i through them in the junk box after i saw a 36 with them on i knew where they went . good luck

I dropped the bottom pan and took some plasti-gauge to check my rod clearance and mains. They all had correct clearance. I drove it on a 500 mile excursion into Tennessee with some F*-#@ Model A's this past Fall, and it did great. So I guess I will continue driving it as long as it continues doing as well as it does. By the way, my 33 Sedan has the same knock which is more evident when you first start the car.
I got a bunch of spare parts with my 35 (boxes of stuff), but I don't think I got the Bumper jack. I am going to have to revisit my storage supply again, thanks to Jim, now that I know what it looks like. chevy

I have extra 1935/36 Master jacks and rear jack brackets if anyone needs them. Send me an email.

Mike :)
