I have lost an acorn nut. It is used for the outer fastening of the windshield frame to the windshield side arm. It is nickeled colored but has same shape as in the picture below. Size: 5/16"-18 N.P. or side: 16 mm and height 14 mm.
Solan, I had two of the acorn nuts, so sent them both. The nickel is pretty worn, but, hopefully, they will get you by until you find better ones, or can have one of these replated. Ed Emerson
Thanks so much. This is a great help for me. The story about loosing one goes like this: We were at the end of the big vehicle show ELMIA in Sweden (a small kind of SEMA. They celebrated their 40th Anniversary and Chevrolet 100 years as well. After rolling out of the show hall I adjusted the angel of the two front window parts to reduce the wind resistance, trailing Solan our car) home. When mounting the nuts one fell off to the ground. And the mishappening was it went straight down in a road drain under the car. Nothing more to do but drive home after a magnificent stay and show. Luckily the inner nut was in place already.
You can see Solan, Kari and me in old costumes in this video (1 minute 55 seconds after start):

It's like a cosmic event! If you drop something it WILL drop into a "wormhole"! There must be a whole bunch of Gremlins around to make sure that happens!
I am missing one of those nuts as well. The stud on my windsheild is twisted off and the nut is gone so I will have to figure out how to get the stud out of the cast iron piece.

After I mailed two acorn nuts to Solan, I discovered that I still had one more. I have a 490 windshield that I thought would fit my extra Monroe body, but it doesn't. You are welcome to the acorn nut, or any other windshield parts that would be useful to you. Ed
I am happy with the two I have got, specially as Bob Kerr is searching for one. Let him have theone you found. I will send you a small token for your help.
May be I will search on the net to find new today's sources for acorn nuts.
