I used to post pictures from Photobucket but now when I hit the Enter an image box and then hit insert a non-floating image my screen goes gray and it says Enter the complete URL. I tried to copy the URL but it doesn't show up. Any hints as to why. My computer crashed and I had someone restore everything but not everything came back as usual. I am now on Yahoo!-Mozilla Firefox. Maybe that is the problem. Thanks.

While you can get a lot of information for free in this forum, sometimes the info that you REALLY need is only available from the right person. This is what "The World's Best Chevrolet Club" is all about.

I use FF and don't have a problem with that. In photobucket, if you hover the pointer over the thumbnail of the picture you want to post in chat you'll get several options, one of which is "direct link". Left click on that box and "copied" will appear momentarily. Then return to your chat reply and right click on the "http://" that is highlighted in the "Enter the complete URL" box and click "paste", the URL of your pic should appear in the box. If you are not in your PB album with the thumbnails but rather on the specific picture's page the four options containing the "direct link" option will be either below or to the right of the picture. The same process applies, left click on direct link ,etc..

Thanks Tiny. Went the way you said first all the way to "Enter your complete URL", right clicked on "http://", hit paste, then OK and Bingo. Picture appeared in "Preview Post." Not the way I used to do it but even faster. I'm on a roll. rolllaugh

I'm glad it works for you Jerry. You even looked past my leaving out to click "paste" after the right click. blush

If the edit option was allowed for a longer period of time I could fix that and possibly prevent confusion in the future if someone refers to that to aid in posting a picture and misses that little detail I left out. There's another site on which I'm a moderator that uses the exact same software as Chat. The edit function is allowed there for literally days so that one has the opportunity to fix mistakes that they don't see initially. Having that ability has NEVER caused a problem there so why not here????
