I have a 1929 Chev. Imperial Sedan with a carter updraft RJH-08. Is this the right carb.? I also have a CRJH-08 that came in a box of extra parts when I bought the car, whats the difference in the two?

They are the same. The RJH-08 was made by Carter and the CRJH-08 was made by Chevrolet. For 1929, your carburetor should be a model 125-S. That's the one with the short, fat external accelerator pump. The other two models are the 135-S and the 150-S. Both of those have the long skinny external accelerator pump, and the 150-S is a retrofit for the 1929 and early 1930 models. :p

A bit of a correction to the message from JYD. The '29 Chevrolet used a 125S until June of 1929. It was replaced by the 135S for the remainder of '29 model year. Early '30 models used it until January '30 when the 150S was introduced. See the February 2002 issue of the G&D for an article on the carburetors. The C-RJH-08 had a body cast in the Bay City, Michigan foundry. Though it has been considered by many people that the "C" indicated that it was produced by Chevrolet, they were manufactured by Carter.
