R u wanting it to be calibrated ? I am told the magnets get tired and don't read properly.
I ran mine (31) with a drill. Ut worked and I have not lubed it and have driven it about 4000 miles without problem. It needs to be calibrated because the mileage is off.

The speedometer cable should be lubed and so should the speedometer head itself. The worm gear and the driven gears inside of the speedometer should be lubricated with a special speedometer lube. Also the shaft inside of the speedometer has a small brass cup that can be removed and inside of the housing under the cup is a felt wick. A few drops of oil should be placed on the felt wick also.

The small bearing in the main shaft that supports the speed cup (needle shaft)will need to be lubed also. It is probably the most neglected part of a speedo.

Mileage won't be changed by weak magnetic force. Only the speed will show slow.

They aren't that hard to take apart and clean, for relubing. Just be careful when removing the needle and the speed cup.
