My old buddy, Push, researched the topic when he restored his '35 Coupe and we both remembered finding a reference but could not remember where. After looking thru most of the '35 literature that we had it was finally found.

According to the 1935 Master Passenger Car "Engineering Features" on page 42. "The windshield wiper provided as standard equipment at the driver's side is swung from the base of the windshield and sweeps thru an arc of 160(deg), forcing snow, rain or sleet to the bottom of the glass. In its travel, it cleans nearly all of the driver's windshield, providing clear vision thru the glass in inclement weather, It parks at the left of the driver, flat against the lower edge of the windshield and well out of his range of vision."

Now pictures in brochures, repair manuals show the wiper parked in both the center and left so the factories might not have been consistant. But at least there is one official Chevrolet reference that states where the wiper was parked.

In looking back at pictures for 1935 and 1936 I have also seen them parked on both sides....From 1937 and up they were always at the center.Porbably flutter less in the wind at high speed when in the center.

In the book "A Pictorial History of Chevrolet 1929-1939", on pages 156 and 160, there are original factory photos from the GM media archives that shows the 1935 Master wipers parked in the outside position.

thanks everyone, mine parks on the left, it just seemed odd, I had a 41 that both parked toward the center. Bob
