Hi, I have a 1930 Chevy 3 window coupe
What is the bracket or the hanger called that holds the muffler itself to the frame? It is not the Exhaust pipe muffler hanger as seen in The Filling Station Part # AF-139.

Where can I get one?

Thanks
Steven

It is called the "muffler bracket" and it is a large, stamped steel bracket that is riveted to the side of the left frame rail. This part is not being reproduced so you will have to find one on an old frame or a bracket that someone has removed from a frame.

If you have the bracket on the frame, you may just need the strap that attaches the muffler to the bracket. The strap is 1" wide and 12 11/16" long, and both ends are hooked. Chevy part number is 344194. Sorry, I can't tell you who sells the strap, but try Gary Wallace, (314) 293-1991.

I made my strap out of stainless steel.

One end of the stap is hooked onto the frame muffler bracket and the other end of the strap is attached to a "Tee" bolt, which goes into a hole in the front part of the frame muffler bracket.

I hear it is easy to make the strap but as you know it... I need the bracket as well.

I hope someone has both.

Thanks

If you are still looking for a muffler bracket I think I have one. It may take a little time to find it but I'm pretty sure I have one off of a hot rodded '30. Send me a PM.
