Jerry,
I appreciate the comment. Try to do a quality job with cost a consideration. My wife calls the carburetor rebuilding "therapy". So far she has not suggested I pay to have the "treatments". Keeps me in the shop which I enjoy. Knowing it helps keep a few more old Chevys on the road is a strong motivation.

Hi Chip,
I want the carb on Matilida redone also. How long is the turnaround?

Will be in Johnson City, TX in Feb (leaving CA in early Jan...yep, I am a slow driver. Also get distracted easily...too much to see and too little time!) Maybe Bev and I could hook up with you and Cathy again and exchange carb or money or both, which ever is correct and/or easiest.

Best to send me the carb and then arrange pickup or sending it back to you. Don't know our schedule during that time for sure. Going to that area later this week to help daughter's family move again.

Of course you could put the Scamp on the back of the car trailer and bring Matilda with you. We have a 4 cylinder tour in Natchitoches, (nack a tish) Louisiana mid-April immediately followed by the Burton Picnic. We still permit Left Coasters into Texas as long as not too many live too far from Austin.

Hey Chipper,
I am going public and saying I agree 100% with Jerry27.

I cannot drive Matilda due to snow here (she is retired and does not have to do snow any more) however, I have had her running in the garage after putting your BEAUTIFUL carb on her and amazingly....the garage did not fill with smoke from rich mixture any more!!! She started right up and after minor idle adjustment (I guess for our 4,000 ft. altitude)she just purrrrrrs.

Thanks a bunch,
Bob D.

I fully agree with the satisfied clients of Chip Sweet. I sent one original and two carburetors, all Zenith for a full check out and refurbishing to his adress. Just before I had also sent a carburetor to another guy, charging $ 500/pc.. After a while the other told me he could not make it work as it was lacking parts. crazy So I asked him to resend to Chip. Today I received the original and another spare in SUPERB condition. The shipment was delayed in customs one week as I forgot to go through customs when I shipped to USA. Luckily no duties or VAT when I explained what had happened on the way. wave

As it still is snow and winter here I have to wait another month for a ride in Solan. But I am pretty sure Chip has fullfilled his craftsman service already. Without any doubt I will recommend him to all members needing service "in his field". A big THANK YOU to my friend Chip for a fabulous repair and his lovely wife Cathy for the shipping!!!
