Does anyone know if the 48 Fleetline Aerosedan is a rare car or a low production? I only seen one at Flint, and I have never seen one on a tour that I have been on. I have one of these cars waiting to be restored. Could anyone help with this information?

Thanks

The Fleetline Aerosedan was the most poplar body styles from 1942-1948 In 1948 there were 212,000 made which is over twice as many as the next most popular body style. Most makes didn't even make that many cars in one year.

Genes right, Not what I would say Rare. but they are a VERY sought after body style.

I don't know where their hiding them either...I mentioned a while back I attended a GoodGuys Car Show in September...3000 cars...not one '46 or '47 Chevrolet...and only one '48 Fleetline Woody...

Most likely the reason there aren't anymore is that they were driven hard and then either rotted away or taken to the bone yard. Don't forget, for many years, these were just 'old cars' and there wasn't that much interest in them. Now, there is a lot of interest in them because of there design/styling, but not many are left. I have gone to many car shows over the years and have only seen a handful of 42 - 48 Fleetlines. Just my .02.

Maybe because of all the chrome that they pasted all over the body of them ( I am not saying that was bad ) but I think all that chrome would catch and hold allot of water and that would rust holes in the body all over and make the car unattractive that led to people getting rid of them?????

Well...your antenna doesn't appear to get in the way of your spot light...I thought I read a post recently that it could (?) And gravel shields...looks as though you have none (?) And your steering wheel...Did you paint it black ? Thanks , Kevin
