Hi8 Tiny64, Yes the process is pretty simple. I did 4 x 1928 speedos back in 2009 with refacing kits from the Filling Station. 1928 speedos are the same innards as your 27. I have attached the tag for the posting on my blog re the process. http://my28chev.blogspot.com/2011/06/2009-speedo-restoration.htmlThe key to the job is surface preperation. When you look up the refacing kit on the FS web site they are actually called 29 refacing kits, dont ask me why. The kit is $16.50,very reasonable. The part number is FC-2932 and is called gaugue refacing kit. Some of the gaugue faces are for other years but the speedo numbers are ok for 27 and 28's This is what it looks like ![[Linked Image from i1091.photobucket.com]](http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i385/1928isgreat/speedo.jpg) Good luck, if I can give you any further help, let me know. Regards Ray

Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great" I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/

The '27-'28 horn button contacts the end of the wire extending down the center of the steering column to complete the ground. There are a couple of springs and tubular spacers in addition to the disc with three holes (apparently the part you are missing).
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!

Hi Tiny,
I will send you a picture in the next day or so of the horn assembly, so you can identify what you are missing.
What part of Victoria are you from. I am in The Basin.
Cheers
Ray

Hi Tiny 64, A few photos of the components below. Let me know if you require further detail on how they fit together. Cheers Ray ![[Linked Image from i1091.photobucket.com]](http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i385/1928isgreat/002-1.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1091.photobucket.com]](http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i385/1928isgreat/003-1.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1091.photobucket.com]](http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i385/1928isgreat/007.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1091.photobucket.com]](http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i385/1928isgreat/009.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1091.photobucket.com]](http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i385/1928isgreat/012.jpg)

The rim jacks show up on eBay often. You should also place an ad in the Parts Wanted section further down in the Forum.

Tiny I sent you a PM re your advance retard linkages and haven't had a reply as yet. Maybe you can give me a ring on 02 4625 7547. The rim tool is called a rim spreader and there are quite a few varieties available, they are pretty rare around swap meets these days. A mate had a spare one, I'll ring him and ask if he still has it Chris
