No room for judging "improvement", is that your final analysis? Who the heck is questioning if the judging is voluntary or not ????

I was speaking of the validity and accuracy of the judging, based on reading comments from those who were judged, just trying to determine HOW the process works. Perhaps tagging along with a judge is the answer, as posted earlier.

Your comments offer nothing to the subject/topic.

You misread the comment. Don't know what the basis is for your critical comments. There is no requirement to have your car judged. If you do submit it for judging, then accept the results. If you can't accept the results, then don't submit your car for judging.

Yes, I think the judging process can be improved, but only by positive and constructive input. You can improve your knowledge considerably by getting a copy of the Judging Manual and reading it. Then if you have questions or comments----post them here.

I question your last comment.

Any activity is only as good as the sum of those that participate. Since VCCA judging is done by volunteers. There is a Judging Manual that you referred to, a Judging Committee, Judging Schools and a point system with awards to recognize those that volunteer. I have volunteered as often as I can during the 40+ years I have been a VCCA member. The current process is much better than in the past. Many dedicated volunteers have spent countless hours trying to make it better and as enjoyable and informative as possible.

Are there mistakes? Are people human? Do the volunteers do the best they can? Even if the point deductions are not 100% accurate is the outcome generally fair and honest? Do the vehicles that best represent the preservation and restoration of original Chevrolet features receive the higher awards? I can tell you that the answer to all of those questions is nearly in every case YES.

If people would go into the process with an open mind, positive attitude, understand the situation and accept the results graciously then it will be a pleasant and informative experience. But if they expect things will not go well for them, guess what? They will get what they expect even if it takes making assumptions and ignoring some facts.

Have any of my vehicles been judged correctly? Never! And I don't expect they ever will. Am I disappointed by the result NEVER! because I know that people are doing their dead level best and that is all I can ask or expect.
