I am interested to know more about the original headlights used in the A.D. trucks back in the day. I have a '48 Chevy 1/2 ton and am still running a 6V system. What did they look like front/back side? What is the availability of these headlights today? What would be a fair price for a pair? THANKS!

I had original one on my '48 when I bought it in 1970. At least it looked like an original. It has a bulb in the center where you'd expect it and it has a black metal back. I checked it with magnet and it is steel. On the glass at the very bottom there's the word GUIDE about one inch long and above the word GUIDE there's two words about three inches long in very bold type. I just checked my '48 now and the same thing applies to the glass and the same bulb like the original one but I don't remember if the newer ones have glass or metal backs.
