The column switch for my 28 National was cutting in and out and stalling out the motor, I took apart the switch and cleaned the whole switch inside and out and still had a connection problem???? Took a volt meter to the brass rivets that connect to the metal screw connections on the back of the switch, and had positive connection but when I put the volt meter to the metal screw connections I had no power connection?????? I cleaned the metal around the brass rivit butt and soldered the brass rivit butt to the metal screw connections and now have full power to the ignition system without any cut out. Hope this help's anyone that is having problems with there switch, somthing to look for on your rebuild.

Someone posted an interest in reproducing this switch. Sent a PM and no reply. If you are still around, I have a sample switch you can use and also in the market for some of the switches. Send me a PM or email.

sorry for the delay in response on the ignition switch. I would like to borrow one to see if I could figure out if they could be reproduced. I'll return it in tack after a few weeks.

Ho, I was looking for the fellow above. I plan to contact him and see what he can do for us. It is the ignition switch that is the critical part.

Yeh, ditto Jay28,
Did the same thing to mine, solder etc, worked a treat. No problems in 4 years, plenty before.
Cheers
Ray
Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great" I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/
