Is the anybody repairing the capillary tube & bulb assy for the temp gauge on a 1934 Master?....Thanks, Joe

YES, but I don't remember anyone on this Forum. If you don't get an answer there are several vendors listed in HMN. (Use the one from AR. He is a relative)

He's not on this Forum, but several folks here, including me, have used him successfully. And he advertises in Hemmings Motor News from time to time. The fluid in the bulb is diethylether. It is extremely flammable and can be ignited by merely pouring from one container to another. So only those that have a healthy respect for the hazard and know how to handle it properly should attempt a repair.
The repair is relatively easy. Evacuate the bulb of water or other fluid. Warm the bulb in hot water and then put the open end of the tube in the ether while cooling the bulb in ice. That should suck ether into bulb about 1/2 full. While keeping the bulb cold, carefully solder the tube, taking care not to plug the center of the tube with solder. The vapor pressure of the ether is what moves the needle.
