Hi Ray, my next question is what years will interchange with my 36 pickup 4 sp.? my thought is if I can find a later differential and closed drive unit I can just swap them out to obtain a higher gear ratio. Thanks..... Richard

If your 1936 pick-up is a 1/2 ton the 1935-36 Master passenger car drive shaft will interchange -only.
If you are a member of the VCCA note the ad in the Oct. issue of the G&D-parts for sale.Member is making a 3.36 ratio ring gear and pinion for that model. That will result in a great reduction in engine speed...and power....to an extent.

He wants the later year 35 master differential carrier & propshaft housing asm. p/n 601277 marked with an "H" on frt. side of carrier (uses the Hyatt pinion rear bearing #C-1506 p/n 125630). It fits the 35-36 models EA, EB, ED, FA, FB, FD. The rear axle housing p/n 601925 is for the 36 FB only. Don't know how much or what is different than master car.
34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.

If he has a 1936 1/2 ton the ring gear and pinion for the late 1935 and all 1936 will be the same as the all use the 601277 differential housing and torque tube. That is the housing his truck will have. This is the ring gears Larry makes . The 601295 is the banjo housing for the 1/2 ton and does not effect the use of the ring gear. I was assuuming that he could use (or will use) his original assembly.....as there is no other (later) torque tube that would interchange. Hope I didn't confuse oldred36

The "H" stamped on the housing was as I found out was used in service parts not the original build; sorry.
