I'd like to verify that the green paint on my '41 coupe is a correct '41 color. I've only had the car a few months, and as I check things out, most of the car seems to be restored to original. The paint is a medium green metallic color. In looking at the paint charts for '41, my guess is that the color is Admiral Green Metallic. I know that after all these years the paint chips on the charts fade, darken, etc. Does anyone have a '41 painted Admiral green and could send me a picture?
Thanks,

Thanks. I have seen that chart. The chips appear to be a little faded. Hopefully someone has a '41 painted Admiral green and could share a picture.

You don't want to take ANY color you see on your monitor as being the exact correct color. The colors you see depend on the monitor you use, it's settings and drivers. The same goes for trying to print exact colors using your computer.

Looking at the original paint on my cowl ( firewall ) as compared with the chart , my monitor is many shades darker...and it's hard to believe it could have faded that much...

Good luck.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. I received a picture of an Admiral Green '41 that looks enough like my paint color for me to say that mine is painted an original color.

What is interesting to me is why would someone name a green color "Admiral Green"????? Any self respecting Admiral would not turn "green" A color related to SEA SICKNESS...Am I missing something here....Green Around The Gills..Indeed.....Think about It >>>>>>>ED

The loose definition of Admiral is "Commander". TVs were called Admirals by brand name. It's suppose to mean in charge or the highest or the best. It could be Admiral... describing any color.

Admiral Green has a milatary tone. When the 41's went into production they knew the war was comming. Some other 41 colors had the same tone; Squardon gray, Cruiser gray, Marine blue. Anyway your lucky to have it, It's a beautfull color and not seen that often.

At that time with WAR a given I don't think they would push the color "YELLOW" I don't think it would sell.Imagine "Cowardly Yellow"...... ED

I don't agree with your logic Ed; but there was a sort of "yellow" for 1941 called Cameo Cream. Check it out on the link below....

6 wheel/Sid,

Yes, there are a number of nice '41 Chevs on that site. I've admired Mike Welch's car since he first sent a photo of it several years ago just after he purchased it. I've never seen it; but hope to some day.

Bill.
