I am in need of a new head, mine is cracked (so my ex was right). It is a 1926. The crack is small, located at center, push rod side, transitioning the top to side. During operation it only yields a bead of coolant, and a small drip running down the side of the block. I'm willing to bet that I only loose a shot glass of coolant an hour. It might be a candidate for JB Weld. Any thoughts?

It is a common problem.
Some can be welded but in most cases you will have to find a replacement.

Some have fitted the 28 head with the 2 port exhaust but this will require some modification of your exhaust to fit.

In my experience, the head may well be OK if it was treated with some type of crack sealer added to the coolant. In my experience, it is better to do that than try and repair it. As discussed last week, single port heads are well known for cracking and any replacement head you come across would be best crack tested before any money or time was spent.
