I have loved cars as long as I can remember...The first car I can remember (and still do) is my fathers 1937 Nash Lafayette.
I grew up in Brooklyn N.Y.City.... We used to spend 1 month every summer on vacation in Ohio..My father would drive the family there in the 37 Nash. There was my Father, Mother, Sister and Grandmother. The trip would take 2 whole days (before interstate highways) WE would spend the night in a "Tourist Cabin" in Pennsylvania. I used to,as a child, spend my time, on the trip, calling out the names of the different cars we would see along the way.
I really get upset about folks that "HATE" other cars unlike theirs...Like people that mean to say "FORD" and misspell it like it's a big sin to say FORD....I have had many cars and loved every one the same...Just like my children.......I have had......A 1941 Chevy SD coupe. 1949 Chevy coupe. 1954 Chevy deluxe(Hardtop) 1940 Buick Coupe 1941 Oldsmobile..(1st fully automatic transmission) 1953 Ford coupe 1949 Ford Coupe 1939 Ford Deluxe Coupe 1959 Pontiac hardtop coupe (rare stick shift) 1956 Nash Rambler 1979 Ford PU truck 1964 Ford Van 1996 Ford PU Truck.Ranger 2003 Ford PU Truck.Ranger 1980 Ford Fairlane coupe 2006 Ford PU Truck.Ranger..That I drive now.(Love them Rangers) 1967 VW Bug ($1800 NEW) 1970 VW Karmann Ghia Convertible ($2100 NEW) And My 1938 Chevy Master Coupe that I still have. I love them All...I love them All....The long the short and the tall......Think about it...Thanx for tuning in....1938ED
I was only wrong one time in my life so far. But that time I was right, and only thought I was wrong....ED

Don't ever get upset at me, if you see me being one of those guys. I would kill to park any '30's to '50's Ford, or other GM convertible in my garage. Even a Nash, or Stude.... However, if Nascar is on, and you're cheering for a Ford or Toyota, then we have problems! I still am a Chevy guy at heart though...
Here's my list... certainly not as long or nice as yours!
1991 Pontiac Sunbird GT coupe 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme coupe 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Coupe 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Coupe 2008 Mazda B4000 Pick up 4X4 1951 Chevrolet Deluxe Sedan 1950 Chevrolet Deluxe Convertible and 1964 and 1968 Massey Ferguson 10 Lawn tractors!
Those accustomed to the finest...find it in Chevrolet. 1953 Belair Convertible 1951 2dr Deluxe Sedan 2015 GMC SLE 4X4

I agree wholeheartedly. I am a Car Guy - not exclusively a Chevy Guy - although Chevrolet obviously is my primary love. I like Hudsons and Nashes, I like Austin Healeys and Packards. I like Pierce Arrows and Buicks.

My first car was a 1951 Ford. My first new car was a 1954 Ford Victoria. I only had one Chevrolet until I purchased my 1931 Chevrolet Sport Coupe and then the Vintage Chevrolet Club was formed. Since then I have had an Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Ford but have settled in on Chevrolet. I have a 2012 Chevrolet on order. I'm in the groove for the last 37 years and I'm seeing the USA in my Chevrolets. I'd love to have another 1940 Flat Head Ford like I drove in high school but they are out of my price range now.

Well, not to burst the balloon on all this wonderfulness about “universal” car guy, etc; BUT I’m a CHEVY Guy. Through and through. It’s likely I got it from my dad who bought new a 47 Special Deluxe 5 passenger coupe, a 54 Bel Air, a 58 Impala, 63 Impala, 73 Caprice, 84 Caprice Coupe and a 95 Impala SS. Good run, pops!
I’ll admit I’ve owned a few none-Chevs, even a couple of Mustangs (64 ½ convertible and a trophy winning 67 Coupe) also a 58 Bird, but essentially mostly Chevs. And among those Chevrolets were Concours trophy winners and a VCCA preservation car.
A good sample of them can be seen in the blue www link “signature” under my posts. (Thnx to Big Bob.) One of my current cars is one of my most favored of all the Chevs I’ve owned. It's the 51 wagon in my avatar that Bill B created for me a few months ago. (Thnx again, BB!!) It isn’t really a true blue VCCA car (it’s modified). However, some may find it interesting to learn that it was voted “Men’s Choice” in People’s Choice voting at a recent VCCA Nat’l Meet.
I have nothing against a rare 64 Olds 442, an original appearing 41 Caddy Coupe powered by a 427 Chev BB (I’ve owned both) or even 40 Ford Coupes, which is one of my all time favorite cars. But, as gorgeous as I think 40 Ford Coupes are, I’ve never owned one and doubt I ever will. After all, I’m a Chevy Guy. It’s fair to say I’m a good example of the current slogan --- Chevy Runs Deep.

I have been a car guy since I was little, and grew up in a Chevy family. We have 9 Chevys with only one not drivable, and that's my 47 that I bought when I was 15. When we had our Auto Repair Shop I used to give my Ford friends a bad time and tell them that I liked Fords because they kept me in Corvette's. You did have to be careful who you told that to.

Well, not to burst the balloon on all this wonderfulness about “universal” car guy, etc; BUT I’m a CHEVY Guy. Through and through. Me too and I ain't ashamed to say so! I drove some other "brandX" company cars until I got enough stroke to have a choice and I choose a Chevrolet, and that was a high point in my career! Semper Fi!... Chevrolet!... and chocolate pie!>>>>>>P.S. I also carry a Colt .45 and like the Texas Ranger said, "It is because they don't make a Colt.46"

I must admit the GM based vehicle is first choice though I have had several japanese cars only because they served the purpose in the price range at the time. I currently have a Holden 1 toner (GM-H) that I transplanted buik 3800 V6 into, 92 Subaru liberty as well as the 38 that has been a restoration project for 30 + years. Tony
1938 1/2 ton Hope to drive it before I retire

It really don't surprise me that Charlie thinks so much of a 41 Chevrolet, after all a 41 Chevrolet is all he has known to compare to a GOOD set of wheels besides all of those F0RD products, POOR Old Charlie! Maybe he is really kin to "Charlie the Tuna" ...remember? We don't want tuna with good taste, we want tuna that tastes good! Don't panic Charlie , I MAY just be kiddin'!

Yeah, a lot of those were stupid moves. And some of them I wish I'd kept. The 1906 High wheeler was very cool, and I loved the '60 Impala convertible and the '33 Coach. Of course, that's spread over 40 years.

ED, I think that us silly old Chevrolet lovers are in the minority when it comes to preferences for old cars. Tell me if this is one of your favs: ![[Linked Image from pic100.picturetrail.com]](http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL1180/4341552/9153654/327374404.jpg) I wish it was in color, Chautruse with red wheels and trim. My first restoration. a 1930 Model A coupe, I kind of wish I had it back , but it went to my younger brother and he hot-rodded it with a Merc flathead V/8 Black paint with red flames on the hood 2 stromberg 97s and 3 on the tree 3 speed, a 48 Chrysler rear end with 820x16 tires on the rear and 600x16s in front with juice brakes. He ran it in 1/4 mile drags back in the late 50s in class F. It ran good.
