Need some help-

I am getting to the point of restoring the body and need to bite the bullet on the $4,000+ wood kit. I have talked to both Mr. Goodwood (Steve)and KC wood(Bill)about buying all the wood for my car.

Both gents are recommended here at VCCA, but is the quality, fit, etc better from one or the other? Lead time for Goodwood is 2-3 months while KC is 8-12... Anyone out there use the wood/kits from both suppliers for a comparison?

Thanks,
Jeff

I have used both and Bill from KC Wood is without question the highest quality your money can buy. However, because of that he has a ton of work and delivery will be slow but in my opinion it is well worth the wait. I had most of my 1923 parts made by Bill and the fit was impressive. Joints were so tight and precise when fitted you would have thought they were glued. No additional work was required when fitting the sheet metal back over the frame.

Goldenwarrior,

I appreciate your feedback and it is exactly what I was hoping to hear from another member... There is roughly $600 cost difference (KC higher) but if the quality is superior it will save 'hand working' time in the long run. I just have to bit the bullet, so to speak...

Thanks,
Jeff
