Here's a photo of a brand new Planters Peanut 1938 Chevy company car. It looks like it's sitting a little high off the road, and the front tires look larger....???

It kind of looks like it's running 15" tires.

That goofy looking thing in the front is a Curtiss JN-1, looks like it still has its OX-5 engine, too!

I'd like one of those if it was for a 38 chevy.

The internet is full of vintage car photos. Some on websites and forums and photo hosting sites. Some are copy protected but most are not.

The government wanted driving held to a minimum during the war.

Speaking of driving and the conservation of resources, it seems to me that the speed limit in NC during WWII was 35 MPH. To save gasoline, I suppose.

I'd like to verify the above. Does anyone have any data that would indicate such limit for NC and/or other states that limited speed during the war. It may have been a limit in all states. I don't have a clue.
Just wondering and thanks,

I found info on the internet that says in 1942 a national speed limit of 35 mph was instituted.

In WA the 35 MPH was printed on the back of the gas ration stamps.

E----GADS!, I am old, but I wasn't driving back in 1943!
35 MPH?
My Mom could run faster than that with a boy under each arm, and me the oldest running to keep up!! My Dad had a wonderful Battleship Gray 1940 Plymouth Deluxe 4 door sedan. He drove it from Dec 1940 to March 1949 and only had to buy gas, oil tires and a battery and rebuild the starter one time. I think that from 1941 to 1946 he probably drove it around 1500 miles a year!

It looks like a Chateaux Rambler, the 1935 prototype of the Wenabago cottage Class C.

It is not a chevy, rear bumper looks more like a 1935-6 f##d coupe bumper, and rear fenders with a peak on them running fore and aft.
