1931 Chevy Truck cowl piece, what's the proper name for it? See photo at link below.

Anyone have a pair for sale? Both sides of the cowl for where the cowl mounts to the chassis.

In '31 cars they are somewhat different looking than what you have there, and are called Toe Board Braces. The drivers side one also houses the dimmer switch on cars.

Yes, I am finding out that a lot on the trucks is different than the cars. On the cars it seems like the wood sill runs almost all the way up to the front of the cowl. On the trucks the wood sill seems to stop at the front door posts and sit on the cowl foot (or cowl bracket, or cowl brace, or toe board bracket or whatever it is called) piece in my picture. The trucks also don't have wood in the dash and front door posts like the cars. The only part that is wood in the truck cowl is the section about the windshield frame.

Since I have the drivers side piece, I may just fabricate new ones using this rusty one as a template.

so floor board doesn't angle up to front of cowl?-should you find they are same as car I believe I have pair in excellent shape you can have-I'll check my parts book if it covers trucks as well

That piece is reproduced by Kent Rehmert, he makes lotza sheet metal parts for 1929-32 Chevys. Number is 937-547-1672
