How does a person know that they have a factory original rear bumper? Is it stamped or have raised lettering that reads GM-D?

The rear bumper sould look like the front but have a different curve. The 1950 and older 1/2 ton Chev pickups came with a rear bumper as standard equipment. After that is was an "extra"

I do understand the difference in the curve of the bumper. However, I want to know if there is some identifying mark on the backside of the original bumpers that would validate it as a GM factory-original bumper.

I just checked the rear bumper on my 50 and it has 3 characters stamped on the inside of it. They are about an inch away from the middle hole in the bumper. Old, tired eyes made me think that it might have been M8C, but I could be wrong.

The bumper is original according to the first owner of the truck.
