I have the origional carter 259s carb on my 33 master.I don't have any problems with it but,I see there was a replacement carb for it (carter 569s).Is one any better than the other? Also is there a problem with judging if you have the 569 on your car?If the 569 is better,I may try one just for the heck of it.

The 569-S is a much better carburetor, especially if you are going to drive the car.

If the judges are knowledgeable they will deduct points for the wrong carburetor since the 569-S is a replacement.

I have my original carburetor but it didn't run very good with it so I use a later carb. If you drive it you could use the later carb and put the original on for judging. It is a pretty easy job to switch. I Imagine that my original needs to be rebuilt but the later one works so nice that it wasn't worth it to me to fix it.

A knowledgeable rebuilder can make the original '33 carburetor run very well. It will not give as good gas mileage as the 569S is a leaner jetted carb. Even the 569S requires someone with experience to get them to run correctly.

Yes I am sure the cars ran good with original carbs when they were new or they wouldn't have been able to sell them. iagree
