any ideas, working on a 54 Chevrolet Belair. When I turn on the parking lights the healights and parking lights turn on but no tail lights. When I turn on the headlights the parking lights go off and the tail lights and headlights work. The brake lights seem to work, but no turn signals. When I step on the brakes the rear turn signals light up but do not blink, when I let off the break no turn signal lights up. the front lights do not blink. Car was just converted to 12v. The front parking/turn signals are dual elements. Oh yeah when the turn signal is on I can not hear the clicking in the #550 flasher unit.Reverse lights do not work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds as though At least two wires are reversed at your light switch but lets back-up and gather more info ... were any sections of the wiring harness disconnected or replaced ? do you have an electrical wiring diagram ? This problem is the immediate result of the conversion ?

the light switch was replaced before by the last owner, but I changed the light ballast resistor from the kit. It was four wires, ground, constant power, and one goes from the center wire on the dimmer to the relay and another goes back to the center terminal on the dimmer. Then the 12v fasher unit was switched out. It seems as though the resistor on the dimmer only works the headights. All the bulbs are changed. Not sure why I do not hear the clicking from the flasher unit, is there another in line fuse that I missed, or is normal to get a bad one (NAPA made in Taiwan)?

Do you have a Wiring Schematic to double check your work or previous work...was thinking might be a switcher-rue out at the light end of the harness...that or we'll have to direct you to where we might find you one...

Headlights appear to be tied in with the parking light circuit at the ...light switch or crossed over near the headlights...

I do not have a wiring schematic, just the directions for doing the conversion. I have had a 65 Chevelle for 24 years, but the 54's are new to me.

Have you considered switching back to 6-volts for better reliability and less problems?
