Hi JYD
Can you confirm the above wheel sizes are WIRE wheels. I have several wire wheels that appear to have the same centers but the rims are for 19, 18, and 17" tires. What year had 17" ??

1933-36. Also, depending upon the model, the hub opening had a different diameter for different hub caps. :p

In addition there are also differences in the same size diameter rims. Wire spoke type and width of the rims also changes. There are three wire wheels for 1930 and three more for 1931 even though they are all 19" in diameter.

Since Chevrolet did not make a 1/2 ton pickup truck you first need to determine exactly what you have. It likely was made by some other body company and that would be critical to obtaining the proper parts.

Hi. I'm trying to find out the exact wheel size and type that should be on my 1931 1/2 ton Chevy pickup. What I've determined so far is that the tires are 4.75" x 19", and that the wheels are supposed to be 19" disc with a 6 lug pattern on a 5 1/2 inch circle, painted black. From looking at photographs, I believe these wheels have a separate rim and hub, and that the rim is held to the hub with 4 mechanically fastened "clamps". (If anyone disagrees with this, please let me know). Now... WHAT I'd REALLY LIKE TO KNOW: what is the correct bead-to-bead width for this wheel? lennriddle@sprynet.com
