Hi Guys,

After starting her this morning, I removed the top cover to find that one rocker is standing still. Removed the side cover and found one half behind the side cover and the other half hanging loose from the rocker arm area.
The push rod broke off clean and the rod was slightly bent.
What can be the cause of this?

The engine run beautifully and I made sure the timing settings in front are set 100%.

Any ideas?

More info,

Pushrod 1 is also slightly bent, but very slightly.
The rod that broke is the 5th one from the left.

usually caused by the valve sticking in the guide......oil valve guide with MMO or ATF

Always add 1/2 ounce of MMO per 1 Gallon of Gas. It really helps to Lub the guides. Al W.

Sticky valve was the problem.

Added some valve release agent and Bobs your uncle. In South Africa we dont have MMO

Thanks for the insight.
