Hi Guys,

Which oil would you recommend for the 1931 chevy's?

I use 10-30. Used 30W for years and just switched. Much better for cold starts.

Perhaps the higher temperatures in South Africa(like in Australia)may call for a slightly heavier grade of oil?

Hi Oukar,

There is quite a bit of discussion on this seemingly simple question. Here is a sampling:

As for my '30, with 15,000+ miles on the rebuilt motor, I just use a detergent 10W-30.

Happy Motoring,

Dan

DanR, I've searched for "oil" but the search did not dig up any posts - thanks for the links

Search acts funny sometimes. It does not like a one word criteria. Try expanding your search to something like "detergent oil".
