I have a 1933 1-1/2 ton truck chassis with no motor. I may be able to acquire a 1941 216 engine to put in it.
Has anyone on the forum attempted this swap? I'm concerned about engine mounts.
Thanks for any help or advice.

I have a friend in Washington, Missouri who installed a 216 in his 32 Car. Email me direct if you want his name and number.

Hi, I put a 1937 1/2 ton pickup engine in my 1933 coupe until I found the correct engine, so it can be done. The bell housing for the pickup bolted right up to the original 33 tranny. The front mounts bolt up to the car but I don't remember about the rear ones [it was years ago]. I don't think a car bell housing will bolt up to your 33 tranny the bolt pattern is different. I still have the 37 P U engine it made a lot more power than the 33 engine does so you'll have a real HOT ROD! LOL Good Luck

I need to clarify my original post. The '41 engine is complete with a 4 speed transmission.
The mounts are what I'm concerned about.

Cleon,
I think you will need to alter the motor mounts to do that swap.

I contacted 35 Mike's friend in MO. and he advised me that he cut out the original cross member and fabricated a new one using truck rear motor mounts. My next step is going to be trying to find a 41-47 rear cross member. Maybe I could bolt that in and not have to fabricate one.
Thanks for the help guys
