Hi Guys, me again

My right side front brake cable is stuck in its housing. This is the cable from the rod link up to the front wheel.

What will you guys suggest me soaking the cable in to loosen it up. I think its rusted in.

Thanks

I use a good penetrating oil and apply it every few hours for a few days or until the cable moves. Apply most through the ends but also can put some on the cable housing also.

Since we are on this topic, how does one re-grease the cables thoroughly during an overhaul? Add grease at each end and try to gradually work it towards full length or by some other means using a grease gun? Also, I painted the cable conduits semi-gloss black, I assume they were painted like everything else?

I'm not familiar with the exact cable to which you are referring, but for most cable I pull them out of the housing as far as possible and rub in a good coat of bearing grease. If it doesn't come all the way out, pull it out the other end as far as possible and repeat on that end. Don't grease more than what moves in the housing, though, or it just attracts dirt.
