According to Hollander (I don't have a relevant Chevrolet parts book as they are on backorder at The Filling Station) a 37-10 r and p were an option for 33 Masters. The 1934, 1935 Master 37 tooth ring gear is reported to be the same as the ring gear used on the 1933 3.70 setup, and different from the 37 tooth used on the 1933 4.11 setup. Nowhere is a 10 tooth pinion gear interchange noted. Does the Chevrolet parts book show a 3.70 option for 1933? Anyone have a lead on a used or NOS 37-10 for 1933 Master?

I'm looking at this because 1933 seems to be a one-off year for everything mechanical and 3.55 gears available for other years don't fit in the 33 case.

Hi George, my 1929 to 1939 Master Parts Book doesn't list any R&P for the 1933 except 37-9.

The Chevrolet Engeering Information Booklet lists only one ratio for the Eagle, Master and Standard. That ratio is 9/37 or 4.11.

Thank you David,

I guess it's not the first time Hollander got it wrong. I will continue to look for a Nash R6-1A mechanical overdrive to replace my freewheeling unit. The freewheeling knob could contol the overdrive, maybe the 35,36 Warner trans would hook up to the overdrive more easily. I'm pretty sure I couldn't find 19 other 33 Master owners to share the engineering and manufacturing charges for 3.55 gears.

And thank you Ray,

I really don't think I took half an hour to type my response to David, strange?
