Here is a picture of my Dads 59 Impala. It was ordered from factory, 348 tri-power, 4 speed.

Very nice!! I wonder if the color of your car was Crown Sapphire? People either hate or love the 59-60 models,I never get tired of looking at them!

That is a seriously nice '59. My brother had one with a ragtop, but I was too young to remember it. Really wish he had kept it, but there's a million of those stories.

53TwoTen - You may include me in the "love" section when it comes to 59-60 model years. It took me almost 3 years to find my 1960 Convertible, whereas - as nice and classic as the '57 is - I could have bought 6 or 7 in the time it took to find a "right" 1960.

This is not to say that the '57 is not a beautiful car, which it is, but in my experience they are much easier to find for sale than the 1958-60. My age is the likely factor, but I love all model years from 1955 thru 1967. My 1st real driving experience was with my brothers 1964 Impala SS.

As far as "never getting tired of looking at them," last winter whenever I went into my garage, I had to stop and stare at my car for a bit. It was like a spell on me. monkey

I think it's almost hysterical when people talk about how rare 55-57 Chevy convertibles are! They are in no way rare... desirable, yes... but not rare! At any given time there are dozens for sale. Try finding 1950's, or 1960's... a much harder task!

Those accustomed to the finest...find it in Chevrolet.
