I am due for a new set of tires for my 1931 and have always been told that whitewall tires were not originally correct until 1932. This is a reply from Coker Tire regarding this issue. I would like whitewalls.

The tires on cars started as white tires. Then they went to a white tire
with black tread where the term white wall comes from which actually started
as black tread. Most tire makers went to an all black tire due to durability
and road conditions not favoring the white tires. As roads improved tire
makers brought back the white wall. To answer your question the 31 came in
black and white walls so both would be period correct. City cars would have
been more prone to white wall while country road farers would have preferred
a black wall.

Just curious what size those are as I called Coker and they did not have the correct size for my 32 in white walls

JYD, What documentation do you have that 31 and 32 came from the factory with black tires and the dealer installed the white wall tires? This would be food information to have.
