I orginally posted this on the Truck forum with no reply to date.

I need new tires for my '61 Apache Series 10 Model C1434 Fleetside and want to mount them on the correct rims. I now have some 15" rims with the three spring steel inner clips for mounting the hubcap and one with two outer ribs for the larger hubcaps.

I think the rims with the spring steel clips were last used on the 1960 models and the 1961 models used the larger hubcaps so was looking for those rims and found there are both 2 rib and 3 ribs styles for retaining the hubcaps.

Does anyone know which is the correct rim? What is the correct chrome hubcap style (bumpers are chrome so assume hubcaps were also chrome)? Also looking for some of the stainless side trim pieces.

Thanks for any info in advance.

A stock 1961 10 series 2WD pickup used the 15 wheels that had 3 bumps to hold on the hubcaps. A 61 C10 series with 16 inch wheels or 15 inch wheels with a split rim still used the clips that were riveted to the wheels like the 1960 and earlier C10 models. The hub caps all look identical but won't interchange. this syle of hubcab was used 1961,62 & 63

wdoftexas - Thanks a bunch for the reply, now I can go hunting for the correct three bump rims. I had been looking for a fifth wire clip rim until I thought that I had better check it out first. Thanks again, much appreciated!

wdoftexas - ebay has hubcaps listed, seller states:

These are a set of 4 1961 thru 1963 Chevy C 101/2 ton pickup hubcaps. They are either NOS or early take offs. They are not perfect, they do have shelf ware including minor dings and scratches. Chrome is very good. These are the 7 5/8 back side opening designed to fit clip style 6 lug wheels offered in this year. Do not fit bump style wheels.

Now I am confused .......... are you or is the seller correct?
