Hi ,and welcome to Chevy Chatter. The 1931 coupe body has a pressed in moulding which follows the rear body panels' upper curve. the 1930 does not have this pressing. The 1930 radiator shell is cut off flat on the bottom, and the 1931 is a rounded shape at the bottom.
The rear fuel tank cover on a 1931 has a scalloped in the center.
And you can check the details on the cowl tag in the engine area and post the information here and someone will help with the decifering of the numbers.

The difference between a 1931 and 1932 coupe is the front windshield frame on a 1932 coupe is curved and continuous to the roof line. the front top corner of the 1932 doors are radiused. The 1931 coupe has a flat section joint at the top of the windshield frame and is fitted with a sun visor.

Some of the mechanicals are different as well from '30 to'31. The bell housing, clutch/brake pedal setup, transmission, brake cables hookup is different. Radiator cap (twist on versus screw on), door handles, hood louvers ('31 has more), headlight bar ('31 is curved versus flatter in '30) headlight buckets (painted in '30 versus chrome plated in '31)etc. So a lot of differences, making it a challenge in finding some of the correct parts because many are one year only. If you get the Master Parts Price List for 1929-1932 from the Filling Station, you will have a great source for which parts fit which years as well as excellent drawings of the different body styles and various parts (as well as the ridiculous prices way back then, a new transmission was about $50)!
