we have a 1941 flatbed truck... the paint has worn, there's a small dent on the roof, and a crack in the back window, but all original parts as far as i know. am curious as to how much it's worth? ideal for someone who wants a project to work on.... 5,000? 10,000?

One must be careful if "fishing" for the value of a proposed "For Sale" item. This practice is frowned upon and may get you a warning you not to by-pass the Parts for Sale Forum.

In the For Sale Forum, you must state the price of the item for sale. No exceptions. And, accordingly, no attempt should be made to go around that process.

Still, I assume, your inquiry is innocent and, therefore, should have a reasoned response. Here goes:

I don't think that the flat bed truck is near the top of the line for folks to restore. Of course, it may be just what someone is looking for. But generally it is not. So the price for a restorable flat bed truck will not command as big bucks as, say, a 41 Station Wagon or Sedan Delivery or even a half ton pickup.

Owing to the fact that it will require similar expenditures of time and money to restore a truck, I would say that based on the limited description given that the lower of the two figures would be about tops to expect. I could be way off either way.

Good luck with selling it. Just set a price that you think is fair and that you can reasonably live with and list it in the For Sale Forum.

Good luck,
Charlie computer

BTW: I have no official VCCA standing to warn you of the no-no's regarding its pricing and selling practices.

Ditto Charlie admonition about fishing for prices. Having said that value is dependent on how bad the seller wants to sell and how bad the buyer wants to buy. It also depends on location. Around here your truck as you describe it would bring in the neighborhood of $1000 to $2500 depending on condition. In California you might get toward $5K. I don't see any way you'd get any where close to the $10K mark unless the glove box was stuffed with $100 bills.
