Photos are from Mike41.

I've seen this car on a bunch of different websites. One of the nicest around. This time it won first place in a show in L.A.

I know everyone has different ideas about what is considered "Class"... but every time I see a car like this I expect to hear CIrcus music in the background and see 10 or 15 clowns come climbing out of it....SORRY....ED

BTW...What kind of "show" did it stop??? a freak show??

I was only wrong one time in my life so far. But that time I was right, and only thought I was wrong....ED

Is that where the (optional) compass belongs or is that the only uncluttered spot left...wait...I can think of two more items for the dash he doesn't have !

Everything is 1938 chevrolet except the visor and carpet. The colors may not be correct. My accessory book shows most of what he has on the car and still a few items left. The two larger lights are not in my book but it does show a passing light that looks alot like the one he has. What's not correct?

I think this is the correct location for the compass. And ,yes the tray is also a 1938 accessory.

If you're into points then you don't want anything but the basic car. Everything you add would be judged and you'd be taking a chance on point deduction. The only thing about that is...who wants a basic car? The accessories are what car show viewers admire and talk about. The visor isn't correct but what a part to draw attention to the car. I think they look good. I don't like fender skirts but that is a REALLY PRICEY item that would be a big thing in chosing which car is nicer. AND,it is a 1938 chevy accessory. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But,what do I know. I thought my first wife was a good looking thing!! WRONG....grin

Doesn't leave much room for the Guide Traffic Viewer...although you can still fit the Cigar Ashtray on there...somewhere! Nice photo's wawuzit, no offense was just having a little fun with it. I really didn't know where the compass belonged. I plan on going to the "Goodguys 25th Anniversary West Coast Nationals" car show this weekend Aug.27th and 28th (Pleasanton, Ca) I'm going in hope'st of checking out the original/stock old chevys...maybe I'll see this "show stopper" there ! sans clowns of course ! I'm just kidding !!

I have seen, be in and love this car. It was restored with loving care...he and his family all worked on the car for a long time. And the dedication, talent and investment shows.

THE award {speaking of just 1} he won was at the VCCA Felix Car show a couple of months ago. That show had over 200 of the finest Chevrolet's in ALL of southern California. So personal reviews aside, as they should be, the car is perfect.

Oh and it has a Traffic Light Viewer. It's on the drivers side of the dash.

Oh I forgot to mention, the owner and about 20 of his friends all belong to VCCA have have for years. You know it's funny, I never hear those guys make "remarks" about all stock Chevy's {?}

Enjoy the ride,

There's no doubt in my mind that's precisely why the VCCA has around 8000 members; but the 'new' members numbers are in the 40,000 range.

Maybe we should just open the door and let everyone in that has an interest in old cars ?
maybe we can get in the 60,000 member range ?(WOW) Think about it. drool

Yes, just think we could be a large assortment people with different values and desires. Then the cliques would quickly form, originals, modifiers, convertible fans, truckers, restorers and then those elitist "Vetters" (yes I own one of those too). We could be an Hodge-podge of people that don't really get along but tolerate each other. Sorta like a large club I also belong to.

Well for me I prefer it the way it is with everyone equal and friendly with each other. I for one would rather have a smaller high quality "family" than a enormous amorphous conglomeration of bodies.

Maybe your experience is different than mine or of those that I have talked to about the VCCA.

I attend several (way over 10) VCCA events each year. Most are tours or region meetings but also other events. I have always found that people attending mix, mingle, converse without any apparent segregation or differentiation. Everyone is equal despite their background, physical appearance or age. No other organization that I have belonged to is that way.

Now don't get me wrong...I think the car is great..bells/whistles and all ! The time, effort and dedication to bring it it's present state is outstanding ! I hope to see it someday and probably will, living in California. I am presently collecting (mostly from ebay) all the option stuff I can get my hands on...now as for that other guy , and I won't mention any names (1938) why don't we all pick on him for awhile...grin... Now I see something behind the fan I can't make out...

From what I can see I like this car. Sounds like this guy and his family put alot of love and sweat in this car. We all know how much of both we have put into our cars. With the car done the thrill of the hunt for the accessories is what he enjoys.

Whew!! Sure am glad you have spell checker. Kinda makes me wonder what would happen if that had come out as "enormous armorous conglomeration of bodies".

Not sure what "armorous" means, neither does FireFox. Does it mean ready to fight? We sure don't want that!

Since this is a family oriented organization "amorous" (suspect that is the word you were looking for) would also not be appropriate. FireFox does a great job of spell checking and also limited sentence structure. As long as it is a word spelled correctly it won't get the wavy red underline.
