I have looked at the repair book I have. I still have a question about the forward drive shaft bushing, In order to replace the bushing ans seal do I need to remove the drive shaft and housing along with the gears from the rear end.

The bushing can be removed by drilling out the rivet and then sliding the bushing out using the slot in the top of the torque tube. The original seal is cork which can either be removed using a probe and air blasts or left.

Inspect the propeller shaft, particularly where it rides on the bushing. If excessively worn then it needs some attention before installing the new bushing and seal.
